Division of Analysis

Water Testing
Testing of water samples from an army hospital.
"Good health-great soldier"are set as the gold standard of the Analysis Division. The ultimate mission of the Analysis Division is to care for health and well-being of the RTA personnel. The Division conducts health promotion and preventive medicine researches together with other services to encounter environmental, occupational, narcotic drugs, and diseases as well as zoonosis threats to health.

The Division’s health promotion and wellness programs include standard laboratory tests that help to assess soldiers’ health and provide individuals with recommendations of how to improve their overall fitness. With drug abuse still being recognized as a national threat, the Division annually runs more than 20,000 morphine, amphetamine and marijuana screenings as well as confirmations for both serviced members and military school applicants. Environmental health problems among the RTA personnel within their living quarters and working area are the Division’s other main concern. In these aspects, monitoring of water and wastewater qualities in the RTA installations and the assessment of occupational health in workers exposed to toxic substances in the military industrial plants are routinely carried out.

Furthermore, the Division also conducts zoonotic studies in laboratory animals which help in addressing many problems with respect to leptospirosis and rickettsial diseases. The culture of Leptospira in our laboratory is well recognized and used as one of the reference laboratories in Thailand. Various studies concerning the evaluation of new medical devices, such as the wound healing pad that reduces the recovery time for most puncture or abrasion injuries in laboratory animals is currently of the main interest and is also being carried out in the Division.
